The Spine Imaging Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center provides patients with comprehensive imaging and diagnostic services for disorders in the neck or spine, including tumors, injuries or alignment problems.
We offer some of the latest in spinal imaging procedures, including:
- Vertebroplasty, a minimally invasive technique in which a medical cement is injected into a spinal bone, or vertebra, broken or weakened by osteoporosis or cancer. The cement heals the break and strengthens the vertebra, protecting it from future injuries.
- Facet injections, in which corticosteroids are injected in a facet joint to diagnose and alleviate chronic leg pain.
- Epidural steroid injections, in which corticosteroids are injected directly into the epidural space in the spine to help patients with chronic discogenic back or leg pain.
- Selective nerve root blocks, in which corticosteroids are injected into certain lumbar nerve root to alleviate chronic leg or low back pain.
Patients with back and neck pain can also be treated by our pain management service.
