The Neuroradiology Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers both diagnostic and therapeutic neuroradiology. The highly experienced, broad-based faculty includes specialists in head and neck radiology, spine imaging, magnetic resonance imaging and interventional neuroradiology.
Our services include not only standard neuroradiology CT and MR imaging, as well as diagnostic myelography, angiography and discography, but also catheter-based treatments such as cerebral aneurysm coiling, carotid and cerebral angioplasty and stenting, and procedures for dissolving blood clots in stroke.
Through our Spine Imaging Program, we offer diagnostic biopsies, as well as vertebroplasty (injection of glue material into vertebral bodies to help control back pain and osteoporosis) and facet injections. Percutaneous biopsies in head and neck radiology are also performed.
The Neuroradiology Program is engaged in research activity in many of these areas, as well as patient studies in conjunction with clinical services on the campus. In addition, we maintain our own research angiography lab.
