It is estimated that 10 million Americans over age 50 have osteoporosis, while another 34 million are at risk for developing the bone disease. Osteoporosis and other bone diseases have a significant impact on quality of life and can affect a person’s ability to walk, stand up and even dress. Ultimately, it can lead to premature death.
