Researchers identify hundreds of genes controlling female fertility

Advances in the field of fertility care now enable many infertile couples to have children. The Fertility and Advanced Reproductive Medicine team of physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel and support staff is devoted to providing:

  • Comprehensive fertility services for the evaluation and treatment of infertile couples
  • Care for hormonal and anatomic disorders of the female reproductive tract

The infertility evaluation for couples generally will include:

  • Blood tests to determine whether the woman is ovulating
  • Evaluation of the ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes
  • Semen analysis to evaluate sperm number, motility and shape

Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy may be performed as day surgery procedures for the diagnosis or treatment of reproductive disorders including endometrial polyps, fibroids, endometriosis and ovarian cysts.

After a comprehensive evaluation, the specialists in our program will recommend an individualized treatment plan based on not only the patient’s condition and medical history but also the patient’s goals and preferences. Recognizing the complexities of medical care, we provide a comprehensive range of evaluation and treatment options from simpler approaches to advanced techniques for treating infertility and reproductive disorders.
