Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S. Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels. Uncontrolled diabetes may result in blindness, kidney damage, heart disease, stroke and amputations. Diabetes education does make a difference.
The Diabetes Management Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers a wide variety of educational programs for people with diabetes. Group and individual appointments are available along with day and evening hours.

A physician's referral is needed to participate in the program. The referring physician will receive documentation detailing the patient's progress. Insurance benefits will be verified prior to scheduling.
The Diabetes Management Program is located on the first floor of UT Southwestern University Hospital, near the Chapel of Mater Dei/St. Francis Courtyard. We are open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and offer evening classes from 5 to 8 p.m.
