Thoracic Surgery
UT Southwestern Medical Center offers some of the most advanced therapies available in the world for the treatment of lung cancer, and our specialists are widely recognized as leading experts in the use of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery for its effective treatment.
- UT Southwestern is one of only seven lung cancer programs in the nation to obtain a prestigious Specialized Program in Research Excellence grant from the National Cancer Institute.
Treatment
The specialists that make up our lung cancer program will review each patient individually to establish a comprehensive treatment plan that may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery. A team of lung cancer specialists is dedicated to continual interaction in pursuit of the best results to treat the various types of lung cancer.
Patient Education
UT Southwestern’s significant research efforts into the causes and cures for lung cancer have made us one of the premier centers in the world for the study of the disease. In addition, we continually work to use research results to make an important difference in patients’ lives. A commitment to furthering the science of lung cancer has enabled our program to achieve dramatic results in the laboratories and in the health-care facilities.
