Our pediatric ophthalmologists recommend that children get frequent eye exams. The American Optometric Association suggests that children have their first regular eye exam at six months. Follow-up exams should be given at ages two to three, when a child's visual system undergoes its most rapid development, and when vision correction is most effective.
