UT Southwestern Medical Center offers full-service emergency care at UT Southwestern University Hospital, located at the corner Harry Hines Boulevard and Inwood Road intersection.
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our emergency department is staffed by board-certified physicians skilled in the treatment of all medical emergencies and equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and treatment facilities. We also offer a FAST TRACK system to expedite care for patients with minor emergencies. FAST TRACK operates daily from 9 a.m. - 1 a.m. and is staffed by nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses.
Our emergency department is accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, meaning we meet or exceed quality-of-care measures in acute cardiac medicine. Patients experiencing heart attacks are taken immediately to our cardiac catheterization lab, where our physicians can open the blocked artery and restore blood flow to the heart, minimizing the damage from the attack.
We are one of five hospital emergency departments in the community recognized by Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Emergency Medical System (EMS) for the management of stroke patients and are affiliated with Children’s Medical Center, so pediatric patients needing hospital admission can be quickly stabilized and transferred for specialized pediatric care.
If a patient has a life-threatening problem, call 911 immediately and direct the paramedics to UT Southwestern University Hospital at 5909 Harry Hines Blvd.
