UT Southwestern Medical Center physicians take complex medical information about childhood cancers and describe it to patients in easy-to-understand terms. In addition, we also offer patients' parents access to educational materials that will help them to learn more about childhood cancers and why their children are candidates for the treatment prescribed.
Patient education can make a significant difference in how patients approach childhood cancers. In addition to access to UT Southwestern’s health-care professionals, patients' parents may consult other educational materials to better understand what to expect before, during and after treatment.
