Time Capsule — April 18, 1968

The dean of UT Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, Dr. Charles C. Sprague, presents to the UT System Regents his proposal for developing a “life sciences center” that would offer education, research and patient care in medicine, allied-health professions and related fields. By June, the plan — calling for doubled enrollment within 10 years and a threefold increase in research and patient-care facilities — is approved.
