1988: Dr. Phoebe Gloeckner has been awarded a 2008 Guggenheim Fellowship. Guggenheim Fellows are awarded on the basis of stellar achievement and exceptional promise for continued accomplishment.

2002: Dr. Margaret "Maggie" Morris Fears, and her husband, Gordie Fears, welcomed the birth of their first child, Caitlin Morgan Fears, on Feb. 26.
