First Annual Innovation Symposium
The first annual Innovation Symposium challenged students to solve health problems for the medically-underserved.

The Innovating Healthcare Solutions (IHS) elective class aims to teach medical students how to successfully define and tackle large, complex problems. For the past four years, IHS has taken students out of the classroom and into the community to work on real health care-related challenges faced by the medically underserved.

In April 2012 students enrolled in the course presented their novel solutions to a panel composed of experts in these fields, as well as established community partners seeking to implement the proposed ideas.
