TEDMED Live 2014 at UTSW

September 10, 2014 — TEDMED Live 2014, the annual conference focusing on health care and medicine, continues Thursday afternoon in the Tom and Lula Gooch Auditorium on the South Campus.

Running under the auspices of the UT Southwestern Office of Global Health, the event began Wednesday morning with live streaming of events from the main sites of TEDMED Live 2014 in Washington.

Following streaming of Wednesday’s events, Fiemu Nwariaku, M.D., Associate Dean for the Office of Global Health and Professor of Surgery, will moderate a panel discussion that allows attendees to ask questions and express their opinions about topics covered in the Washington session.

Eric Bing, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Global Health at Southern Methodist University, and George Bush Institute Global Health Fellow, joined Dr. Nwariaku, as did Frank Roby, Chairman and CEO OF Concero Global, a private investment and advisory firm focused on emerging companies in health care, education and economic development, in the Wednesday panel discussion.

Mr. Roby will join Thursday’s panel discussion, along with Dawn Johnson, M.D., Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.

Registration for the campus event is required, but is free, and is handled through the website of the World Affairs Council of Dallas Fort Worth The Thursday session kicks off at 3 p.m. in Gooch Auditorium; the panel discussion will begin at 5:20 p.m., followed by a reception afterward.
