Angelique Whitehurst received her B.A. and B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 1997. She attended graduate school at UT Southwestern Medical Center and earned a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology with Melanie Cobb, Ph.D.. She then did postdoctoral research with Michael White, Ph.D., developing high-throughput RNAi screens to identify chemosensitizer loci in mammalian cells.
Dr. Whitehurst began her independent research program in 2009 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in the Department of Pharmacology and The Lineberger Cancer Center.
In 2013 Dr. Whitehurst joined the faculty at UT Southwestern in the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center with a secondary appointment in the Department of Pharmacology.
