Oversecretion of mucus is a common pathological feature in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder and cystic fibrosis. My work involves identification of novel inhibitors for targeting the important enzymes in the mucin biosynthesis pathway based on high throughput screening and complementary cell-based approaches.
