Hulleman and Genereux Labs Publish Collaborative Paper

Using a high-end proteomics-based approach, our lab, along with the Genereux lab identified 16 new intracellular proteins that bind to WT and R345W fibulin-3. Alterations in fibulin-3 are associated with eye disorders such age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and a rare retinal dystrophy, Malattia Leventinese. The results provide a framework for future experiments which genetically or pharmacologically target fibulin-3 in an effort to ultimately alter its fate.
 
The paper, “Mapping wild-type and R345W fibulin-3 intracellular interactomes”, is published in the October online edition of Experimental Eye Research.
