Training

Training

UTSW is one of the nation's premier academic medical centers. Researchers are trained to pave the way in developing the latest in biomedical science. Our distinguished faculty includes Nobel Laureates, members of the prestigious National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Medicine, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Lab Meetings

Meetings take place weekly with all lab members participating and featuring their individual research projects. We are committed to keeping these meetings both interactive and productive.

Meetings with the PI

Individual sessions take place once a week to ensure that target goals and timelines are met. It also serves as a venue to discuss future projects and department objectives.

Grand Rounds

Grand Rounds at Children’s Medical Center are an important teaching tool and ritual of medical education and inpatient care. They help health-care professionals keep up to date about the the newest research and treatments in important areas that may be outside of their core practice. Grand Rounds are video-conferenced to several area hospitals for the convenience of their pediatricians. Upcoming Grand Rounds are listed in UTSW's online Events calendar.

External Conferences/Symposiums

We encourage participation in annual conferences, including the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Gastroenterologic Association, and the Society for Pediatric Research. They provide excellent forums to exchange the newest research and collaborate with industry experts.

UTSW Lectures and Departmental Conferences

UTSW offers a myriad of lectures and conferences that cover a broad range of topics, interests and venues, such as curriculum classes, small group meetings, didactic lectures, and research symposiums. Upcoming events are listed in UTSW’s online Events Calendar.
