Genevieve Kendall

Education: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles CA, 2013. Thesis: Small molecule calcium modulators enhance antisense-targeted exon skipping on the DMD gene.

Bachelor of Science with Highest Honors, Texas Tech University (TTU), Lubbock, TX. 2007

When I'm in the Lab: My research interests involve developing genetic and translational models of pediatric cancers using zebrafish. Specifically, I am using zebrafish modeling of PAX3-FOXO1 driven alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma to: 1) characterize the basic biology and cell of origin 2) identify PAX3-FOXO1 targets and associated pathogenic transcriptional networks, and 3) perform a genetic modifier screen to identify tumor suppressors and activators.

When I'm not in the Lab: When I'm not in the lab I enjoy exploring Dallas and playing and watching soccer, especially FC Dallas.
