The Division of Applied Science comprises two graduate programs in the areas of Biomedical Communications and Biomedical Engineering. Both programs share a common on-line application, but have different requirements, deadlines, and admissions committees.

For more information on courses offered please refer to the Southwestern Graduate School Online Catalog

Biomedical Communications  seeks to apply highly advanced skills in communications arts and technology to the health sciences.

The Biomedical Communications Graduate Program is one of only five programs that are accredited by the Association of Medical Illustrators and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.    The program is a two-year program leading to Masters of Arts degree that begins in May.    First and second year courses are offered on a sequential basis only and students are required to take the entire course sequence to graduate. Information on admission requirements and deadlines is available.  top

Biomedical Engineering  is the application of engineering principles and methods to define and solve problems in medicine and biology.  Students choose the biomedical engineering field to be of service to people, for the challenge of working with living systems, and to apply advanced technology to problems of health care delivery. Contact the program for information on admission requirements and deadlines.

The UT Southwestern Joint Program in Biomedical Engineering is structured into six research/teaching tracks.  For more information, use the links below.
