In the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, over 340 faculty members train more than 700 advanced degree students and 500 postdoctoral trainees.  Over the years, UT Southwestern graduate school faculty have discovered how cells regulate cholesterol, solved the molecular structure of the complex that turns light into chemical energy and discovered G proteins.  They are recognized internationally as leaders in their research disciplines.  Faculty research interests are diverse and comprehensive.  Our faculty include 4 Nobel Prize winning scientists, one winner of the Shaw Prize, 18 members of the National Academy of Sciences, 14 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and 11 members of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute
