Biography
Allen F. Morey, MD, FACS received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1983. He earned his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland in 1987, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After internship and urology residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, he completed a fellowship in urologic trauma and reconstruction at the University of California, San Francisco from 1995-1997. Dr. Morey has extensive clinical experience in reconstructive urology with emphasis in urethral stricture disease, Peyronies disease, male incontinence, urologic trauma, erectile dysfunction, and prosthetic urology. He has published extensively in these areas, with more than 120 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters. He serves presently as Secretary-Treasurer of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons and Trauma/Reconstruction contributing editor for the Journal of Urology and Urology Times. Dr. Morey is also active nationally in urologic education, serving on the Urology Residency Review Committee of the ACGME as the Director of the AUA Annual Review Course, and as Texas representative to the South Central Section of the American Urological Association. Dr. Morey served 20 years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, including assignments as Chief of Urology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas (1999-2006) and Urology Consultant to The Surgeon General (2003-2007). Military awards include Airborne Wings (Parachutist badge), the Army Achievement Award with three oak leaf clusters, The Surgeon General A Designator Award, and a combat service patch for duty in Iraq.
