Biography

Dr.Golla has a background in Neurology and Neurodevelopmental disabilities, with specific subspecialty training in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. She has done graduate coursework in Clinical Research Design and Analysis, Protocol Development, Biostatistics and other relevant courses offered by the Department of Clinical Sciences. Her previous research experience in the Department of Neurology under the supervision of Dr. Juan Pascual includes a study evaluating the role of Biochemical, Clinical, Radiologic and Genotypic Analysis in identification of MELAS. She has previously worked under the mentorship of Dr. Iannaccone to study dystrophinopathy as cause of muscle weakness in young girls presenting with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy phenotype and recently published in the Journal Of clinical Neuromuscular Diseases. She is currently applying for a grant as a PI to study "The Neurocognitive Impairment in Patients with Dystrophinopathies." She has also been involved in the study to assess efficacy of Buspirone in Young Children with Autism. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Padiatric Neurolgy specifically specialized to see patients with Neurodevelopmental Disabilties which include Autism, Developmental Delay, Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
