Biography

Danielle M. Robertson completed her OD, PhD, at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2002 and 2007 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern. Dr. Robertson is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and the British Contact Lens Association and serves on the editorial board for Eye & Contact Lens.

Dr. Robertson is a member of the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology, the American Society for Cell Biology, the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine, and the International Society for Contact Lens Research. She was a two-time Ezell Fellow and a recipient of a Scientific Career Development Award from Research to Prevent Blindness.

Dr. Robertson has received scientific research awards from OneSight Research Foundation, the American Optometric Foundation, the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists Education and Research Foundation, Research to Prevent Blindness and the Eye Bank Association of America to support her work in the area of cornea and contact lenses. Her current NIH/NEI-funded research is aimed at elucidating the cellular and molecular signaling pathways that regulate corneal epithelial renewal mechanisms.
