Biography

Dr. Morrow is a research Faculty Associate in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern. He is a national expert on the impact of the electronic health record on teaching and learning in medical education and has authored 5 papers on the subject. He is currently Principal Investigator for two NIH health information technology projects:  (1) a HRSA predoctoral training grant teaching third-year medical students electronic health record communication skills to enhance the doctor-patient relationship, and (2) a NIMH grant evaluating the use of electronic measurement-based care to treat individuals with depression. Dr. Morrow is Consultant for a UT Health Systems grant integrating health information technology quality improvement strategies into UT Southwestern's Epic EHR. The project is a collaborative effort between Northwestern University and the UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Morrow also serves as a Faculty Mentor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine for residents and medical students conducting community based participatory research (CBPR) within our CARE, CART and CHFP post-graduate and undergraduate medical educational programs. These projects focus on the chronic disease and public health research needs of our local community partners serving underserved populations within the Dallas metroplex.
