Biography

Dr. Euhus received his B.S. (cum laude) from Colorado State University and his M.D. from St. Louis University Medical School. He performed an internship, surgical residency and surgical oncology fellowship at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He served as a surgical oncologist in the U.S. Army for five years, with his last assignment at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. He has been a faculty member at U.T. Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas since 1996. Dr. Euhus' research interests are in breast cancer risk measurement and prevention. He is Co-Director of the Mary L. Brown Breast Cancer Genetics and Risk Assessment Clinic in the U.T. Southwestern Center for Breast Care. He is also The Marilyn R. Corrigan Distinguished Chair in Breast Cancer Surgery. He is the author of the popular CancerGene software program which is used for genetic risk assessment in more than 1100 cancer centers worldwide. His laboratory, which is funded by the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society, investigates molecular markers of breast cancer risk in benign breast cells from high-risk women.
