Biography

Dr. Hong Xiao is a native of China where she attended Harbin Medical University earning her Medical Degree in 1983, and Master Degree in Medical Genetics in 1988. She then moved to the United States as a visiting fellow conducting research for the Human Genome project at the National Institute of Health. Dr. Xiao later moved with her family to Dallas during 1993 where she worked at the Howard Hughes Institute as a research associate. Deciding it was time to return to practicing medicine, Dr. Xiao entered the Family Practice program at UT Southwestern, where she was elected Chief Resident in her last year. Upon graduation, she joined the Family Practice Department as an Assistant Professor. She is currently interested in clinic oriented research and preventive medicine.
