I have been a member of the UTSWMC faculty since 1990 and since 1993 have been an obstetric anesthesiologist. It was during my surgical residency that I discovered my love for anesthesiology. While a chief resident in anesthesiology, I discover my passion for teaching. I am actively involved with resident teaching and thoroughly enjoy the challenges of teaching clinical anesthesia in a very busy obstetric practice. I am married to an orthopaedic surgeon, James R. Sackett, M.D. who is in private practice with the Carrell Clinic and also a clinical associate professor here at UTSWMC with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. We have one son, Barton Sackett, a student at St. Mark's School of Texas. I enjoy cooking and baking for my family. I am an avid alpine skier. I also enjoy the symphony, listening to classical music, and traveling with my family.
