Biography

Dr. Sparagana is a general pediatric neurologist at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He has special interest in cerebral palsy and neurophysiology (including intraoperative monitoring) and is Director of Neurophysiology. He is also Director of the Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, primarily for the neurological and renal complications of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC).

Dr. Sparagana and his team are involved in clinical research on neurological complications (epilepsy, SEGAs, neuroimaging), as well as clinical research on various aspects of renal angiomyolipomas (natural history, biopsies, and embolization) in children with TSC. The team also has strong collaboration with specialists in other aspects of their clinical care (cardiological, psychiatric, etc.). The team is also involved in collaborative research with a group at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston on the correlation between TSC genotype and phenotype.
