Biography
Dr. Harford was born in the United States and attended high school in Monterrey, Mexico. He received a BA in psychology from Vanderbilt University in 1968. He worked at St. Luke’s Hospital Center in New York City for one year prior to entering medical school at UT Southwestern. He remained at UT Southwestern to complete his residency in internal medicine (1973-1976) and fellowship in gastroenterology (1976-1978). Dr. Harford spent the next 10 years in the private practice of gastroenterology in Dallas, then joined the faculty of UT Southwestern. Since 1988, he has been a fulltime faculty member and director of GI Endoscopy at the Dallas VA. He is married to Madeline Harford, MD, a psychiatrist.
