Biography

Dr. Barker received his internal medicine training at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.  He served there an additional year as a teaching hospitalist, supervising inpatient internal medicine teams of housestaff and medical students where he received a teaching award.  He subsequently joined the general internal medicine faculty at UTSW in the fall of 2011.  His clinical interests include cardiovascular disease, preventive care and young adult care, and his research interests include quality improvement and medical education in the ambulatory environment.  Outside of medicine, he spends his time running, cooking and learning how to fish.
