Biography

Dr. Farzaneh-Far received a BA with first class honors from the University of Cambridge in 1999. He earned an MD (with distinctions) from the University of London in 2002. Dr. Farzaneh-Far trained in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). In 2010, he earned an MAS in Clinical Research from UCSF. Before joining the faculty of UT Southwestern he was a staff cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSF. Dr. Farzaneh-Far's research is focused on novel technologies for molecular diagnosis and risk stratification in cardiovascular disease.  He is the recipient of the American Heart Association’s Fellow-to-Faculty Transition Award, awarded for the study of telomere shortening in coronary artery disease.  Dr. Farzaneh-Far's clinical interests include valvular heart disease, preventive cardiology, and the cardiovascular manifestations of systemic disease.
