Biography
Dr. Francesca Lee was born in Italy and raised in Spain, followed by a move to Las Vegas, NV, where she completed high school. She received her initial medical training at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, NV. She pursued a residency in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Resident. The opportunity to care for- and learn from -a wide patient population led her to pursue an Infectious Diseases fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. While completing this training, Dr. Lee realized she wanted to expand her knowledge base in Microbiology, and completed a second fellowship in Clinical Microbiology at the University of Utah’s ARUP Laboratories. Dr. Lee brings to UTSW a strong background in general infectious diseases with a focus on clinical microbiology, as well as an interest in medical education. She is currently the director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program for the University Hospitals, and a clinical consultant in the hospital’s Microbiology Laboratory. Dr. Lee’s interests outside of medicine include her family and friends, cooking, and exploring the Dallas area.
