 RESEARCH OVERVIEW
 
Dr. Rao’s research focuses on exploring innovative treatments and strategies for breast cancer. Her research regarding surgiical treatment of patients with metastatic disease has been presented at the Society of Surgical Oncologists, accepted for publication in the Journal of Surgical Oncology and featured in Surgery News. She also performs tumescent mastectomy and is initiating research on it’s potential benefits. In addition, her study of ethnic differences in cancer have also been a subject of the first review of breast cancer in the American Asian-Indian population.
