 RESEARCH OVERVIEW
 
1) Emotion focused couple therapy (EFT) in the treatment of (a)Major Depressive Disorder, (b) alcohol dependence in early recovery, and (c) cocaine and methamphetamine dependence in early recovery.
2) Initiate-Avoid Dyadic Communication. We have developed an instrument to assess this pattern (the Initiator Style Questionnaire) and are exploring the role of this pattern in health and illness as well as the part it plays as a mechanism of change in EFT for couples.
