I have two primary areas of research: 1) the epidemiological study of amphetamine/methamphetamine, and 2) outcomes related to the use of managed care in public mental health in Texas. Regarding amphetamines, my focus has been on amphetamine-associated stroke and acute myocardial infarction. I am also interested patterns of prevalence. As to public mental health, I am interested in "spill-over" effects of public mental health policy. I would like to better understand the relationship between public mental health, medical illness, crime, and death.
