Over the last four years I have established a strong interest in the area of depression and comorbid medical illness, as well as working with my mentor in a clinic we set up looking at patients with treatment resistant depression. From working closely with Dr. Trivedi and both the Texas Medication Algorithm Project (TMAP) and Sequenced Treatment Alternatives to Relieve Depression (STAR*D) algorithms, I have seen directly the clinical benefits of following evidence ?based treatment guidelines. Currently, I am working directly with Dr. Trivedi on several recently federally funded multi-site projects.
