Dr. Lingvay’s main research interest is in the area of beta-cell function as a major pathogenic mechanism for type 2 diabetes development. Current projects evaluate (1) the contribution of lipotoxicity to beta-cell function (in humans) and (2) early intervention strategies to maximize beta-cell reserve in patients with type 2 diabetes.
