Dr. Fowler is Co-Principal Investigator for the National Institutes of Health Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium Dallas Area. He provides infrastructural support through the EMS system for studies in cardiac arrest, hemorrhagic shock, and traumatic brain injury. He is also Joint Investigator for the IMMEDIATE Trial for the Dallas Area, also sponsored by the National Institutes of Health National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. This trial will be testing the applicability of glucose, insulin, and potassium infusions for victims of the acute coronary syndrome.
