 RESEARCH OVERVIEW

I do two types of research. My work on quantitative methods focuses on evaluation methods and other data analysis methods. Focus topics include Statistical Methodology in Clinical Trials, Experimental Design, Quasi-Experimentation, Applied Mixed Models, Linear & Non-Linear Regression, Repeated Measures Analysis, Longitudinal and Multivariate Data Analysis, Nonparametric Analysis of Covariance, and Robustness and Power Assessment. My substantive work focuses on population and environmental psychology (e.g., divorce and society, divorce and family structure, community disasters and the family). I use quantitative methods and statistical models to help explain these behaviors.

My collaborations in the Department of Psychiatry focus on (a) pharmacologic interventions of persons with schizophrenia, (b) antipsychotic medication adherence in outpatients with schizophrenia, (c) pharmacologic & CBT interventions of children and adolescents with major depressive disorder, (d) pharmacologic & family therapy interventions of adults with major depressive disorder and relational discord, and (e) cardiovascular effects in adults who abuse amphetamines.
