Dr. Vongpatanasin’s research focus is in the area of mechanisms of primary and secondary hypertension in humans and transgenic animals and the specific pathogenetic role of sympathetic nervous system and inflammation. She is currently investigating the interplay between angiotensin and acute phase proteins on development of hypertension and atherosclerosis.
