 RESEARCH OVERVIEW

The genetic and vascular risk disease causes of Alzheimer’s disease are my main areas of clinical basic science research. Families with Alzheimer’s disease and patients with diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and cerebrovascular disease are of interest to our research group. The immunoptherapy of treating Alzheimer’s disease is the area of my laboratory research directed at implementing a clinical trial with a DNA gene vaccine for Abeta42 to develop anti-Abeta42 antibodies which will reduce the Abeta42 (amyloid) levels in the brain of Alzheimer’s disease patients.

 RESEARCH INTERESTS

Alzheime's Disease
Neurogenerative Disorders
Clinical and Molecular Neurogenetics
