Zafreen A. Siddiqui, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine with OB background where she supervise residents. She is the director of Family Medicine OBSTETRICS. She finished her residency from the highly prestigious Texas Tech University with a Dean’s Resident Award for outstanding professionalism and interdisciplinary cooperation. She received two 1st place teaching research exhibit and research project awards from TAFP. She also received certificate of achievement for highest scores in 2003 and 2004 In-Training Exams at Texas Tech. She served as the President of House Staff Committee for GME Texas Tech. She is a diplomat of American Board of Family Medicine. She holds several leadership positions at TMA and TAFP along with delegate to the AMA House of Delegates. She finished her fellowship in high risk OB at UTMB, Austin, TX. The Scope of this fellowship included not only Obstetrics but also women care in general including high risk OB care for all complicated patients ranging from uncontrolled diabetes, hyper-tension, pre term labor, recurrent abortion etc. Gynae clinic included to do colposcopy, LEEP, cervical biopsy, endometrial biopsy, infertility clinic, DUB evaluation and treatment. Inpatient covered labor and delivery including normal, vacuum assisted and forceps deliveries, low transverse, classical C-section, post partum tubal ligation, dilatation and curettage. Due to high patient load at the sister of charity hospital Brackenridge and Austin Women hospital Dr. Siddiqui become highly proficient and independent in performing all the above mentioned procedures in a very short time. The main reason for her to do this fellowship was her interest in women care.
