Michael V. Zaretsky, M.D. is the UT Southwestern physician in residence in the office of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Children’s Medical Center Legacy in Plano.
Since completing his fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at UT Southwestern in 2004, Dr. Zaretsky has been treating women with high-risk and complicated pregnancies. He offers the full spectrum of maternal-fetal medicine services, including prenatal genetic counseling and diagnostic procedures like ultrasound imaging, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and fetal blood sampling.
Dr. Zaretsky specializes in the management of medical conditions that may adversely affect a pregnant woman as well as her unborn child. In some cases, treatment can be performed before birth. In others, Dr. Zaretsky works closely with pediatric subspecialists at UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center to coordinate care for newborns who need specialized treatment following delivery.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Zaretsky is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Dallas County Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.
He also serves as a coordinator for the Dallas center of the North American Fetal Therapy Network (NAFTNet) -- a voluntary association of medical centers with multidisiplinary clinical prenatal diagnosis and treatment programs including programs for advanced in utero therapeutic procedures.
