 PERSONAL OVERVIEW
     
Dr. Sudhof received his M.D. degree from the University of Gottingen in Germany and performed his doctoral thesis work in the laboratory of Victor Whittaker at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Gottingen. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratories of Michael Brown and Joseph Goldstein at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, and has been a Professor of Molecular Genetics since 1991. Dr. Sudhof also serves as an investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the U.S.A.
