Medical School Teaching Awards
Teaching awards have been a staple of the curriculum at UT Southwestern Medical School for many years. In 2005, in conjunction with the first annual Excellence in Education reception and award ceremony, a series of new teaching awards for our distinguished Educators and clinical teachers were inaugurated. The awards included the Pre-Clinical Distinguished Educator Award, Clinical Distinguished Educator Award and the Socrates Awards.
Awards for teaching in lectures and small groups in the first two years of medical school and in the core clerkships are presented annually at the Excellence in Education ceremony.
