Student Academic Assistance Services
Student Academic Assistance Services, offered by the Office of Medical Education, promotes the retention and advancement of UT Southwestern students through the curriculum, using a variety of support services, including:
- Learning skills assessment and development
- Academic advising and counseling
- Support for students with disabilities
- Tutoring
- Stress management skills development
- Remedial advisement
- Student outreach activities
- Referral assistance
- USMLE preparation and advisement (individual consultations, planning seminars, and remediation assistance for second year medical students)
- Summer Enrichment Program (a diversity initiative for incoming first year medical students)
- Special courses (subject reviews, learning skills seminars)
Academic assistance services are available for students in the medical school, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the School of Health Professions.
