Office of Medical Education

The Office of Medical Education (OME) enhances the educational experience at UT Southwestern for both students and faculty by offering services that promote the quality of the instruction and the curriculum provided, and that help students in successfully completing their coursework.

For Students

For students, the OME offers a range of academic assistance services. These services are available to all students, including students of the Medical School, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the School of Health Professions. See Student Academic Assistance Services.

The OME also operates the SimCenter, a small group teaching center where students can learn and practice skills on high-fidelity simulators using carefully constructed scenarios.

For Faculty

For faculty, the OME offers assistance in evaluating students’ clinical skills, as well as curriculum and instruction development. These services are available to medical school faculty:

OME faculty and staff also maintain and administer the Web Curriculum for the medical school.
