How to Apply

We use the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) to process applications for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and we request that you include the following documents in your application package:

  • Application with photograph
  • Summative competency letter (if applicable)
  • Letter stating completion of adult requirements and CSV’s
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • Transcripts from all universities, undergraduate, graduate, and medical school and Dean’s letter
  • Copy of medical school diploma and Dean’s letter
  • Copy of diploma from an ACGME-accredited general psychiatry residency program (if applicable)
  • Copies of USMLE or COMLEX Step I, II, III score reports
  • ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
  • Visa status (if applicable) [NOTE: only J-1 visas are sponsored]
  • Copy of Texas license, DEA and DPS (if applicable)
  • 3 Letters of recommendation from attending supervisors
  • Letter of recommendation from training director

We look forward to reviewing your application. After review of the completed application packet by the Education Committee, you may then be invited for an interview with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry faculty. We like to interview those with the most promising applications in a day-long meeting, which will include tours of our facilities, discussions with our faculty, and lunch with residents in an informal environment.
