ACGME-Accredited Fellowships

Hospice and Palliative Medicine

The Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers a 12-month ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine that is open to PM&R resident applicants. Candidates must have completed medical training, including medical school, internship, and residency in the United States. Contact the Department of Internal Medicine for more information.

Pain Management

The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers a 12-month Pain Management Fellowship that conforms to the ACGME requirements for pain medicine subspecialty certification. This fellowship is open to PM&R, neurology, psychiatry, and anesthesiology resident applicants. Three fellow positions are available per year. Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Healthâ„  offers one and two-year ACGME-accredited fellowships in pediatric rehabilitation medicine. Fellows will be exposed to a wide range of pediatric rehabilitation medicine including TBI, multiple trauma, SCI including acute ICU care, acute inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and medical management. Spinal Cord Injury Medicine

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine (SCIM). Fellows will be exposed to a broad spectrum of SCI medicine clinical scenarios for both adults and children, including acute spinal injury ICU care, acute inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and medical management. Brain Injury Medicine

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers a one-year non-accredited fellowship in brain injury medicine (BIM) with emphasis on post-acute brain injury management. Acute care services are based at Parkland Health & Hospital System, the region’s largest Level I trauma center; the System captures 60 percent of the region’s trauma. Research opportunities are available through the North Texas Traumatic Brain Injury System (NTTBIMS) and the clinical trials network. Contact Kimberly King for more information.
