Gilbert Forbes received the John Howland Medal, the highest honor in Academic Pediatrics, in 1992.
Perrin White received the E. Mead Johnson Pediatric Research Award in 1996.
George McCracken received the Maxwell Finland Award in 2004.
George Lister received the Maureen Andrew Mentor Award of the Society for Pediatric Research and was elected Chairman of the Board of the American Board of Pediatrics in 2004, was elected to the Institute of Medicine National Academy of Sciences in 2006, and was elected President of the American Pediatric Society in 2008.
George Buchanan received the Distinguished Career Award from the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in 2007.
Fangming Lin was the first recipient of the Norman Siegel Pediatric Research Grant Award from the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology in 2007.
Robert Wiebe was co-recipient of the Emergency Medical Services for Children National Heroes Award in 2007.
Three members of the Department have been elected President of the Society for Pediatric Research: Joseph Warshaw in 1982, George Lister in 1993, and Philip Shaul in 2006.
